The current product range is being enhanced following an R&D project being undertaken with Sheffield Hallam University. The project has resulted in the redesign of the semi trailer tank to make the road tanker more aerodynamic and will reduce fuel consumption by reducing drag. Feedback from early trials has enabled the company to redesign their tankers with the proven knowledge that they are lighter and more aero dynamic which translates into fuel efficiency and carbon savings without loss of structural integrity. There will be further development with Sheffield Hallam University in this area of design.
The tanker building skills are significant and are able to be transferred to new products. Following the acquisition of Vallely Tankers in 2007 the company has started to manufacture environmental services tankers. These tankers are fully ADR compliant with rollover protection, bunded manways, secondary valves with impact protection and hydraulic door clamps tested to 4 bar.
The company will purchase and equip an adjacent manufacturing site. This will provide the additional capacity to increase current throughput. The additional space will provide the opportunity to grow core business and the add on service and repair work. It will provide the space to extend the product range to include new products for which there is increasing demand and which the company could produce utilising its current skill sets and experience.
